With a mission of "strengthening communities by rebuilding lives", Peaceprints of WNY exists to disrupt and mitigate the cycle of incarceration. We offer the resources, tools, and support for justice-involved individuals and their families to regain control of their lives and live independently without further justice-involvement.
With programming for kids and adults touched by the criminal justice system, we offer intensive, individualized pre- and post- release case management; supportive housing; educational attainment; workforce development; medical/mental health/substance use disorder treatment linkage; legal advocacy; basic needs like food, clothing, bus passes, and cell phones; peer mentorship; family reunification and much more!
Our impact is so effective that only 9% of our clients experience continued legal involvement, compared to our county's recidivism rate of 81%. As a result, we are currently being studied by the federal government as a potential national best practice in reentry!
