Houndhaven rescues dogs and puppies from euthanasia at kill shelters and other life threatening situations. We restore them to health and care for them until they can be placed in loving homes. We believe that these lives are precious, and we are strictly a no kill group. Our mission is life.
We have rescued more than 1,600 dogs since opening in Dec. 2000, and we operate entirely on donations and grants. We have always operated with only volunteers and never have had paid staff. It is a rarity for a bricks and mortar shelter to be able to do so, but we all want donations to go to help our dogs.
