Houston Stutter Social for Kids is an activity and advocacy group for families who have a child or teen who stutters in the Houston area. Stuttering can be isolating, frusterating, lead to lower job prospects, and reduced quality of life. Getting the kids together can build resiliance by giving them a chance to hear others who sound like them. I'm building a community of friends who have the same life long condition. We are also working on advocacy with speech therapists, police officers, teachers, etc. My son has a (clinically) very severe stutter so this is a cause thats close to my heart.
