Founded in 1958 by legendary actor Hugh O’Brian, Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that seeks to motivate individuals to make positive differences within our global community and to empower them to achieve their highest potential.

Each year, HOBY Texas North welcomes high school sophomores from the north Texas area to participate in our local seminar, which will take place at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, from June 9th through 11th. Student ambassadors will engage in an intense learning environment, interacting with our state’s leaders and exploring many leadership styles. HOBY’s dynamic and hands-on educational approach develops critical thinking, team-building, and goal-setting skills. Our leadership for service challenge encourages students to complete a minimum of 100 hours of volunteer service in their communities in the year following the seminar. Since its inception, HOBY has touched the lives of more than 500,000 alumni. Moreover, 100% of the planning and operation for our seminar is completed by civic-minded and committed volunteers, many of them HOBY Alumni, who believe in HOBY’s goals and in making this positive experience possible.

Your contribution will go toward helping students from around the North Texas area attend this life-changing seminar. Our goal is to reach as many students as possible, but the financial obligation of sending a student away for the weekend is sometimes more than a school district can afford at the time. With your help, we will be able to provide scholarships to students to attend HOBY so they can continue on their paths to becoming the leaders of tomorrow.
