Our mission today is to improve the welfare of animals in Granville County, NC through the promotion of responsible pet ownership. We operate on hard work and the belief that charities must be responsible to the citizens that support them.
Our key programs include low cost microchip/rabies clinics, a pet food pantry, and the reduction of unintended litters through spay/neuter opportunities, specifically, Granville Spay Day which we hosted for the first time in 2013 (78 pets S/N for free to date!). In 2014 we started rescuing kitties from the county shelter to see if we could help reduce the number of cats euthanized. Many of the kitties from the shelter are sick or injured and medical costs simply add up fast. Our kitty rescue program has really blossomed over the past two years. In 2016 we rescued 115 kitties from the shelter and found forever homes for 94. So far in 2017 we have rescued 91 kitties and found forever homes for 75 of them. It is kitten season right now and the shelter is at capacity
