Hunt County Kids was founded in 2007. We are a 100% volunteer organization working to help meet the needs of underprivileged children in Hunt County. According to the Texas Education Agency 70% of the students in Hunt County are considered economically disadvantaged. We work closely with schools, churches and other organizations to help meet the needs of these children. We provide backpacks and school supplies to approved students. We work with the schools to provide school clothing to students in need. We also work with CPS to help children in the foster care system. Our Emergency Response Program helps families with utilities, emergency food and other expenses that occur. We also work with the schools to provide books for children to take home. What we do for these children is fundamental. If they have the school supplies and clothing they need, they will do better in school and are more apt to finish high school.
