Did you know, in the U.S., a baby is born withdrawing from opioids they were exposed to before they were born every 15 minutes? Here in Arizona, two babies suffering so painfully with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) are born every day. But thanks to a first-of-its-kind facility right here in Phoenix, those babies and their families are getting the specialized support they need.
Hushabye Nursery has served more than 636 babies since 2020. Their inpatient medical withdrawal care for infants born exposed to opioids has helped not only those children but their entire families. In fact, 67% of those who come to Hushabye Nursery get into treatment themselves. 77% of those babies were able to stay with their moms.
These are just some of the reasons the Town of Paradise Valley Women’s Association (TPVWA) has chosen to designate funds raised through the raffle at our annual Spring Luncheon to Hushabye Nursery. All ticket sales for raffle items will be donated to the charity with the goal of raising more than $10,000.
We are asking you to please donate an item for the event’s raffle. We know it would be a big hit with our attendees and our members, who can purchase tickets online even if they cannot attend the luncheon. Any donation would make a great impact on our fundraising efforts. In appreciation, you will be featured in raffle promotional efforts and event signage.
