The mission of iD.A.Y.dream is to help the next generation realize their dreams by providing inspiration through building character, exploration and intervention.
iD.A.Y.dream is a nonprofit organization founded in 2016 in Seattle, Washington. In recent years, it has expanded to the state of California, with an office in the city of Ontario.
iD.A.Y.dream provides services for youth between the ages of 12 and 18 and strives to socialize and inspire the program participants - the Dreamers - to become leaders in their communities. The organization mainly serves marginalized communities by providing tools and resources for students to prepare them for life after high school and give them more opportunities to succeed. iD.A.Y.dream offers educational programming, one-on-one mentorship, internship opportunities, and community engagement events.
The goals of iD.A.Y.dream are:
- To create an environment for youth and their families to vocalize their areas of demand and build on positive values.
- To provide outreach services for youth seeking to develop their skills for the future and be the direct positive pathway to future opportunities and successes.
- To foster the next generation of leaders from marginalized communities and help create a more united, educated, and equitable society.
These goals are achieved through specific activities such as educational programming, one-on-one mentorship, internships, and community engagement events. In addition, Dreamers are expected to engage in community service and development initiatives that promote leadership and collaboration, build important life skills, and prepare them for higher education and/or their professional careers.
