Irene & Eric Simon Brain Research Foundation AKA: IES Brain Research Foundation is a volunteer run non-profit, whose mission is to help advance research towards treatments and goals for treatments and cures of brain disease and conditions. The IES Brain Research Foundation Summer Fellowship attracts bright, motivate college students and 1st year grad and med students to the field of neuroscience. The student fellows are mentored by outstanding neuroscientists who are the head of a top-notch lab.
The goal is that many of these student fellows continue in the field of neuroscience and add to the work of the senior scientists to find treatments and cures for brain diseases and disorders such as: Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, TBI (concussion, etc.), stroke, addiction, pain, autism, epilepsy, depression, schizophrenia, brain cancer, MS, PTSD, etc. All proceeds from the event support the Summer Fellowship Program. Many of our student fellows have or are going for their PhD or MD/PhD in neuroscience.
