The Ilion Free Public Library is situated in a rural and manufacturing community, only a few
miles away from Herkimer and Utica. In addition to our collection of circulating materials,
we provide a variety of programs for patrons of all ages and are attempting to expand our
regular services to include more activities for young adults. We run a very popular Summer Reading Program that keeps kids, teens, and adults engaged in a variety of activities and encourages reading. The building itself is a 130 year-old facility that is open for six days a week for 49 hours per week, featuring a local history department that is staffed by a seasoned historian. We strive to be place where our community members can meet, learn, create, discover, and grow.
