I am the Donor Programs Coordinator for ImpactLife, the local blood center that serves a large portion of the state of Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, and Wisconsin. Right now we are experiencing a very great need to have blood donors donate to avoid having a shortage of blood products on our shelves that hospitals rely on.
Specifically in the St. Louis region, ImpactLife supplies 40% of the St. Louis area's blood transfusion needs at local hospitals in St. Louis. We are a 501(c)3 organization. In 2021 we collected between 75,000 - 80,000 units of blood which supplied blood products to approximately 29,177 patients in the St. Louis area hospitals alone.
