The Bird Azarian Memorial Training Center is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and wrestling club
sanctioned by USA Wrestling. Founded in 2023, B.A.M. is dedicated to developing youth and high school
wrestlers in Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois while honoring the Bird and Azarian legacy and led
by coach Anthony “Ole” D’Alie.
B-Bird. Josh Bird was a former wrestler at BAM that was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in 2020.
He was a three time state finalist and two time state champion. We honor our facility after him due to
his dedication, hard work, and encouraging spirit.
A-Azarian. The A stands for a man that put his family and community first. Not only was he an
outstanding wrestler but he was an even better coach and mentor. Tony Azarian passed away in 2000 in
a construction accident. We honor our facility in his name and the legacy that he continues to uphold. In
addition to Tony, we honor our facility in the name of his nephew Anthony Azarian who also tragically
passed away in 2019 in a construction accident. Anthony was a two time state finalist and runner-up.
M-Memorial. As we continue to memorialize Josh Bird, Tony & Anthony Azarian we take along what we
remember most about them and strive to teach our wrestlers more than the sport. We teach dedication,
teamwork, character, perseverance, and mental toughness. We know that these skill sets are necessary
both on and off the mat. Whether one of our club members is pursuing a college career in the sport or
pursuing a doctorate degree, these qualities and experiences are what sets them apart from the rest.
