Hope Partners has been building hope for no-, very-low, and low-income families and individuals in since 1968. Our programs ensure the empowerment of people in need and strive to improve health outcomes for families and individuals experiencing or at-risk of food insecurity and homelessness by providing food, shelter and other supportive services. Our programs include:

·         Food Security Program -- Five food pantries (Ontario, Pomona, Claremont, San Dimas) and two monthly food distributions (Upland and Chino) providing emergency food and ancillary services to some 3,600 people each month. Here, families and individuals in need are provided basic staple foods and fresh, healthy produce to help them avoid hunger and health-related problems related to poor nutrition.

·         Healthy Living Programs – an important part of our mission is increasing low-income families’ access to fresh, nutritious produce to improve their overall health. Our Healthy Living efforts include: The year-round Pomona Valley Certified Farmers' Market (open to all residents; offers low-income shoppers healthy, locally grown produce each Saturday year-round. The market accepts food stamps, WIC (including Senior WIC); it offers Market Match to extend the quantity of healthy produce low-income shoppers on mainstream benefits can purchase); our partnerships with local urban farms Amy’s Farm and Lopez Farm (utilizing the assistance of our volunteers, the owners donate a substantial percentage of the farms’ harvest to feed our families); and the Gleaning Hope Program (pairs volunteers with local residents who wish to donate fruit from the trees in their yard. Volunteers pick the ripe fruit and deliver it to our food pantries).

·         Housing Programs -- Our Housing Programs are designed to break the cycle of homelessness and quickly return homeless families and individuals into safe, stable housing. Programs include: Our House Family Shelter (30—90 day program with room and board, case management and other essential services for homeless families and single women); Rapid Re-Housing (offers homeless families with short to medium-term rental assistance and wrap-around services); Homeless Prevention (provides housing vulnerable households with one-time emergency rental assistance to help them avoid eviction and keep them in their home).

We serve some 70,000 residents of west San Bernardino County and east Los Angeles County every year through our comprehensive service delivery. We operate with a small, but experienced staff of 12 (8 FT, 4 PT), and depend upon donors and volunteers to make our programs possible. Every year, over 400 volunteers donate over 25,000 hours to Hope Partners to help support the programs that help transform lives in our community.
