Invisible Wounds Project is committed to raising awareness and providing therapy and related services to Minnesota’s military, first responders, frontline medical staff, corrections, dispatch, and their families, relating to mental health, PTSD and suicide issues.

We offer therapy services completely off the record and without cost to those we serve. Our primary therapy recipient is someone currently working in law enforcement, fire fighter, or other public service position such as nurse, etc, and they are struggling with their mental health due to work related trauman, and are worried about retaliation from their employers or partners.

We receive on average 5-7 new inquiries per week. Those we work with are often in a very critical stage with their mental health and require 6-12 months of therapy consisting of 20+ sessions at a cost of $4,000 on average.

We have 20 different providers and facilities that we work with who are specifically trained to work with those we serve.

In addition to therapy services, we also facilitate retreats with a therapy component. These retreats generally would have a theme such as "critical care nurses retreat" or be related to a critical incident, and function as more of a debrief.  We also have placed 12 service dogs in the past 2 years, and partner with another organization on training. Finally, we also have developed a woodworking program where volunteers run woodworking classes, both individual and group where we can send those who are needing connection, and the ability to get away and "get dirty working with their hands" for a time to recover. The items the make are then used in auctions, sold, etc, to continue to fund the program.
