OCD Midwest is a non-profit affiliate of the International OCD Foundation that is made up of members from Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental health disorder that affects people of all ages and walks of life and occurs when a person gets caught in a cycle of obsessions and compulsions. Obsessions are unwanted, intrusive thoughts, images, or urges that trigger intensely distressing feelings. Compulsions are behaviors an individual engages in to attempt to get rid of the obsessions and/or decrease his or her distress.

Under the larger umbrella of the International OCD Foundation, our mission at OCD Midwest is to help increase awareness about OCD, reduce stigma, provide education and training for therapists in the Midwest to develop expertise in treating OCD, and to therefore provide more access to high-quality, evidenced-based treatment for people suffering from OCD.
