Founded in October of 2007, It’s a Sensory World! was created by a parent, Rekha Suryanarayana, and a teacher, Angela Stephens. Together their vision was to create a space where children with special needs would not only be accepted but celebrated. It’s a Sensory World! began as the first recreational sensory gym in the state and the second in the nation. Over time, It’s a Sensory World! has grown to include unique, sensory-based educational and recreational programming filling the service delivery gaps in the region. It’s a Sensory World! serves hundreds of children with special needs and their families from 70+ zip codes throughout North Texas and is well-known in the community for providing heartfelt, high-quality services.

ISW Academy- It’s a Sensory World! Academy was developed to serve children ages 2 to 18 with developmental delays and disabilities, specifically those who have not yet found success in traditional educational settings. Currently, we are serving 50+ students annually who attend August-May.

Recreational Programs- InterActive Kids is a social skills program at It’s a Sensory World! that will equip children with the skills and strategies needed to be purposefully included in their community.  Our recreational camps (Fall, Winter, Spring Break, and Summer) help maintain skills, while using our unique model to regulate the sensory system and target developmental skills that children might not focus on throughout the school year. We also love to provide our campers with unique experiences through creative activities, special programs, and community outings! Our goal is to provide a one-of-kind experience that provides entertainment, practice, and preparation for inclusive opportunities for your child out in the community.
