As an animal welfare organization, our area of expertise is in helping animals. This sounds simple, but it means being whatever animals need us to be; we're transport coordinators and drivers to save the lives of dogs in overfull, high-kill shelters in the south. We're teachers, educating the public on the importance of microchipping, vaccinating, spaying and neutering.

We're caregivers, nurturing weak newborn puppies and kittens, feeding them by bottle if necessary and serving as birthing coach and a source of comfort to scared dog and cat moms-to-be. We're emergency workers, dropping everything to drive sick animals to get emergency medical care. We're community organizers, planning mass vaccine and microchipping events and our annual The Village Dog Days of Summer, where pet lovers can gather for a day of fun and learning. We're public speakers; we're business owners; we're website designers and accountants and grant writers. We're everything for these animals because we're all they have and we take that responsibility seriously.
