It Takes A Village No-Kill Rescue, Inc. (ITV) is an Indiana 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created because of the dire need regarding homeless animals in Evansville and the surrounding communities. ITV was created to reduce the number of animals that die each year for no other reason than lack of space to house them. ITV transfers animals from regional shelters and places them in loving foster homes or at one of the ITV Rescue Centers until we can find them a permanent home. We also help the community members with surrenders of unwanted animals to our rescue and we help stray animals in our area.

ITV opened the first no-kill rescue center in Evansville in the summer of 2012. ITV averages over 150 animals in our care relying on us to provide them with food, housing, veterinary care and, ultimately, find them a home. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in helping bully breeds, senior animals, animals with medical needs and other "hard-to-place" animals. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless irrespective of breed, location or circumstance."

ITV also has many programs that help the community. For example, we help community members that have unexpected vet bills or need temporary help with beloved family pets. We also work with various groups to partner homeless dogs with individuals who need service dogs.We work with school groups and also attend many community events talking about our no-kill mission to help homeless animals.

ITV has rescued thousands of animals since we have formed, with our rescues increasing every year. In 2021 we were able to rescue 1350 animals! We are well on course to increase our rescues again this year.
