The Newton Chapter fulfills the mission and purpose of our national organization by planning and executing thoughtful, purpose-driven programming initiatives. The Newton Chapter was chartered in 1966 and is based in Newton, Massachusetts serving Newton and the surrounding communities. Our dynamic group of approximately 70 mother members and 170 children engage in annual programming for our children, families, and mothers. We use the framework of the national thrusts of education, social, community service, leadership, and legislative to engage our members and communities.
We build intentional and creative programming for our African American families through the lens of the Black lived experience. We build leaders and create opportunities to practice and experience leadership for our youth. We build givers and provide opportunities for our youth to serve others. We build Black scholars and expose our youth to unique educational and career opportunities in STEM, Law, Education, the Arts, and others.
