The James F. Mikulski Memorial Group was formed to establish a legacy of sharing, caring and helping others in memory of James F. Mikulski who we lost to suicide in 2013. The charity honors Jim's life by benefiting children in underserved areas of Chicago through scholarships and support for academic and after school activities. The charity has registered an assumed name of Jim's Bridge to A Brighter Future.
Since 2014, the James F. Mikulski Memorial Group has provided 104 scholarships and sponsored well over 50 academic, artistic and athletic
programs for schools in lower income areas of Chicago. Examplesinclude funding and distributing fully stocked backpacks for more than
400 children as they go back to school, funding of bus transportation to field trips, sponsoring Christmas time events, funding gym and play time equipment, providing supplies for after school clubs and athletic teams, funding costumes for school plays, sponsoring an online reading
program, and during COVID times, providing personal protective equipment (PPE) for the children.
