I want to invite you to participate in our annual online auction fundraising event scheduled for this November. I would like to share some insights into the lives of those impacted by the donations JC Scholarly receives.

Abuse is a traumatic situation for youth to endure. It is tough when the abuse involves molestation. I do not wish to call the children victims but youth under difficult conditions. Sometimes, poverty opens the door to other problems, including placing youth in precarious situations where they may become prey for those that would harm the most innocent and fragile in our society.

We take comfort in knowing we have helped young people navigate difficult spots and give them hope for the future by providing opportunities in the arts, humanities, and science fields, not only for those harmed but also to offer suggestions for change for those who abuse.

This November, we will celebrate the bounteous good that came from the initial act of kindness when Native Americans and early colonists shared a dinner. My husband and I recently realized we had been re-enacting that first Thanksgiving. A few of my ancestors came on the Mayflower, and some of my husband's ancestors greeted them, bringing presents of the harvest. My husband says, "I saved you, and you saved me." We build solid relationships and a more peaceful society by saving each other with kind and helpful acts. With the support we have garnered in the past and that which we will gather in the future, we, as a unified organization, can continue to strengthen and bless those in difficult situations.

The online auction will take place in mid-November. We request that all donations be received by November 4, 2023. I am enclosing an introductory information letter with additional details.
