Jean Tweed is a non-profit community-based organization that provides support and services to women and their families for over 35 years. We provide a range of services for individuals that are looking to overcome challenges with substance use, gambling and mental health including services such as trauma-informed counselling and transitional supportive housing. We are committed to working from an inclusive, holistic anti-oppression framework to assist women and their families by providing a safe and caring environment.
Jean Tweed Centre’s mission is to provide innovative, accessible and effective services to women and their families who experience substance use, mental health and/or gambling concerns. As a women-centered organization, our visions are to build life skills and healthier habits to overcome these challenges and live a healthy life. Understanding each woman's experience within the broader physical, emotional, social and cultural context, we provide a client-centred approach to health care. Our services help women develop insight and life skills to reinforce healthy choices, now and in the future.
