Dear Neighbor,
The Saginaw Public Library is proud to once again present a summer library program for students from birth through high school. (And adults, too!) This is an important event at our library, encouraging our area youth to read and enjoy the many benefits that the library offers over the course of the summer. This year, our program will be from June 8, 2022 through July 23, 2022. The number of beneficiaries served is based on an estimated number of youth we have served over the course of previous summer numbers.
Last year, our Summer Reading Club plans were (like everything else) unexpectedly altered. We had to look for ways to serve our community’s children through virtual programming, take-home activities, and anything else we could think of. This year, we are hoping to safely put on a more normal SRC, while building on our recent experiences and successes.
As a local business, we would love for you to partner with us to promote literacy and educational programming during the summer. There are a number of ways that you can help us keep kids engaged this summer:
· Coupons or vouchers that we can include in reading incentives
· Gift Cards ($5-$25) that we can use as awards and prizes
· Monetary donations in any amount that will help us cover the cost of supplies
· Sponsor a specific program ($100-$300)
· Got other ideas? Let us know!
We would greatly appreciate any support you can give. We know that it’s been a hard year for most businesses, but we think it’s important to work together with our local business community. We will make sure people know that you are helping to sponsor this year’s Summer Reading Club, unless you wish otherwise.
Reading throughout the summer benefits students; it helps them to retain skills learned during the school year. We hope that you will consider joining our efforts to support our area youth.
