John Muir is the smallest public elementary school in the Berkeley Unified School District, with a student population of approximately 250 diverse K – 5th graders, including a majority of the deaf and hard of hearing children in Alameda County. Our PTA is made up of a diverse, all-volunteer team dedicated to our mission of promoting diversity, inclusivity, and community by running supply rooms for families in need, literacy nights, a family science festival, enrichment class scholarships, and many more programs. All proceeds generated by our fundraisers will support the John Muir PTA, which funds important programs such as physical education, dance classes, literacy support and field trips for every student, mini-grants for every teacher, and events such as May Faire and science fair for the school community.
