The JWS (John Woods Schaeffer) Memorial Scholarship was created in 2019 for students who participated in 4H, FFA, and or their high school’s fishing and shooting teams. Students in Magnolia ISD, Montgomery ISD and Tomball ISD participating in any of the above events are able to apply for the scholarship. Since 2019, we have held a 12 station clay shoot in combination with a silent auction to raise money for senior scholarships. We are proud to say that each year we have been able to increase the number of scholarships given, allowing us to help more students wishing to attend a trade school, community college, or university. Last year we awarded $50,000 in scholarships to local students.
The JWS Memorial Scholarship does one fundraiser a year. Last year, we hit an all time high with participation. Local high school students in 4H and FFA helped by volunteering at our event. In conjunction with our clay shoot we also hold a silent auction. The JWS Memorial Scholarship is looking for items for our silent auction and would love it if you would be willing to donate towards our silent auction. Donations can be in any form: gift cards/certificates, tickets, a basket representing your establishment, passes etc… Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.The more money we raise through our silent auction, the more scholarships we will be able to administer to deserving students. The JWS Memorial Scholarship will advertise your donation on our Facebook and Instagram page.
