Every Christmas time the Goodfellows devoted tailwaggers swing into action. They invade factories and office, infiltrate organization meetings and roam the highways and byways in search of generous citizens from who they can extract a dollar or two to help needy children. Their collection every year account for a major portion of the Journal's Goodfellow Fund. Goodfellow provides gifts to needy children around the Siouxland area during the holiday season. Today more than 2,000 families receive Goodfellow Christmas bags. That is an average of 8,500 children; each bag consists of 2 new toys and a book for each child between the ages of infant to 12 years of age.
