Since 2004, Journey To Dream (JTD) has impacted tens of thousands of students through prevention assemblies, teen support groups, community outreach, and homeless services. JTD impacts vulnerable teen populations, including those in crisis.

JTD's mission is to empower, equip, and embrace victimized, at-risk, and homeless teens to overcome adversity and homelessness through education, life skills, and positive experiences, enabling them to function as self-sufficient, productive adults.

Annually, we are successfully reaching, impacting, and interacting with over 15,000 teens through our housing programs, school prevention assemblies, teen support groups, RESET forums, community outreach, and supportive resources.

Coming off the streets, the teens we serve are typically disconnected from their families and other social support. These are teens who have endured traumatic and adverse childhood experiences. In addition to living on the streets, many have survived abusive homes, spent time in juvenile justice facilities, aged out of foster care, or have been victims of human trafficking and exploitation.

JTD is premised on the belief that substantive and supportive curriculum-based programs can be a powerful catalyst for victimized, at-risk, and homeless teens to be positively motivated to pursue education and healthy living goals. We are aggressively stretching to reach more teens each year through our community outreach, school programs, teen residential shelter, and supportive service initiatives.

Kyle’s Place is a Transitional Living Program for homeless teens working towards independence.

Kyle's Place does much more than provide a safe place to live. Residents at Kyle's Place learn a new way of life, experiencing love and support, many for the first time while breaking negative cycles, achieving goals, and being hopeful about the future.

Journey to Dream has been serving homeless teens since 2004 through outreach programs that offer support for meals, clothing, and transportation, as well as life skills training. In 2017, Journey to Dream opened Kyle's Place, a transitional living home for unaccompanied and foster teens age 14 to 19.

Kyle's Place is the only homeless shelter in Denton County to house and care for teens between 14-19 years-old.

The home is complete with all the amenities and it is a comfortable place for teens to live and pursue meaningful futures. While living here, teens work with family counselors, mentors who help with life skills, and have access to community resources. After leaving Kyle's Place, teens have the skills to confidently put one foot in front of the other towards a brighter future.
