Journey to Dream Foundation is a local nonprofit with a 19-Bed Residential Campus for at-risk, victimized, and homeless teens called Kyle's Place.  Journey to Dream started as a School Program that focused on our teens dealing with peer pressure, depression, thoughts of suicide, drug use, needing food, needing clothing, needing tutoring, etc.  One of our teens in that program was very instrumental in bringing teens into the Program, and his name was Kyle.  No one knew he was suffering in silence, and unfortunately, he committed suicide, and that is where our name came from. We still have our Dream Initiative Program in local schools to date, making a difference.

We are the ONLY unaccompanied minor shelter in Denton County, we take teens as young as 14.  When teens come to Kyle's Place, most of the time, it is between 6 and 8th placement, and they are almost aging out of the system.  We focus on preparing them to be young educated, independent, and self-sufficient adults.  We provide, a safe place for them to live, all their meals, medical and dental needs, educational needs, guidance, life skills, and love.  We provide a stable environment where these teens are loved, supported, and even pushed to break generational cycles, so they can grow and thrive.  Our teens have come from some traumatic situations and we just want them to know that their situation and circumstance do not define who they are and who they will be.  They have been silenced, told they would never be anyone, or mount to anything, and we help them prove all those people wrong.

At Kyle's Place, we have a structured family environment, we help teens, get adopted, move to foster homes, in hopes of adoption, graduate from school, get accepted into college, get jobs, and sometimes for the very first time, learn how to function in positive environments and live out their dreams.  We help them find their voice and their purpose!
