Mission: The Junior League of Kingsport is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and to improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
We complete various projects throughout the year depending on community need. Several projects are annual including:
- We fund a Mini-Grant that is awarded to local non-profit requesting funds for a project advocating for women or children annually
- We provide a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating High school female pursuing higher education annually
- League co-hosts an area wide (3 city) food drive every year in March
- We provide Easter Baskets to children at Holston Home (a local orphanage) and toiletries and needed items are contained in those baskets
- We've begun a "Teacher's Toolbox" project that provides school supplies, clothes, shoes, hygeine items etc. to local schools whose children are lower income and in need of such items. This is a 3 year old project and in the process of expanding.
