Just Kids Dental is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization directly improving the oral health of high risk underserved children through the delivery of school and community-based preventive dental services and education programs. By removing access to care barriers of cost, time, and transportation, Just Kids Dental increases the proportion of children receiving basic dental care and education for improved oral and overall health.
Just Kids Dental was established in 2006 out of compassion with the primary goal of reducing pediatric dental disease among children facing limited access to care. Just Kids Dental has increased access to dental care and education for over 10,000 children and provided over $8 million in value of care at no cost to families or schools. With uninsured rates at 30% of children served, tens of thousands of children stand to benefit from Just Kids Dental's accessible basic dental services. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), for every $1 invested in preventive dental care, $48 in emergency and restorative care is saved to local taxpayers; it can be estimated that Just Kids Dental has saved $192 million in emergency and restorative care for children at highest risk for poop oral health and reduced access to care.
Just Kids Dental provides accessible oral health education and preventive services within 30 schools in rural Minnesota and Wisconsin. Just Kids Dental provides preventive dental care up to 3 times per school year. Just Kids Dental also provides school and community-based preventive dental services and education year round through school and community outreach events.
