KCCG inspires and empowers low-income households, schools and community groups to grow their own fruit and vegetables. We support a network of more than 3,000 backyard gardens and 750 community gardens and orchards, located across the Kansas City metropolitan area. Through our programs, we provide subsidized seeds, plants, gardening supplies, tilling, rental plots and more to low-income families and community groups, helping them to cultivate successful gardens. We also offer free technical assistance and educational workshops.
Last year, 42,000 households harvested food from a KCCG-support garden or orchard, and thousands more received garden-grown produce through local food pantries.
