Founded in 1983, the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation is a registered charity that is dedicated to working in collaboration with donors and the community to support and raise funds for the enrichment of children, youth, and families involved with the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society. We encourage and enable children and youth involved with the Kawartha-Haliburton Children's Aid Society to achieve their full potential by providing support for a wide variety of life-enriching programs and experiences, including dance and music lessons, sports activities, summer camp, and bursary support for post-secondary education plus supports for youth transitioning to independent living. We aim to help fill the gap, so these children can have the same experiences as their peers. We want to expose them to a variety of life-enriching experiences that help foster feelings of inclusion and belonging plus build self-confidence.  These experiences fall outside of the funding provided to the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society by the Ministry of Youth and Child Services. We rely solely on the generosity of our community, ranging from service clubs, private foundations, businesses, and individuals. Together we can provide these positive, life-enriching programs for the most vulnerable local youth in Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton, and surrounding areas.
