We knows backpacks are important part of going to back to school for children. In 2010, our Ready Set Back 2 School event was created. Since then, we have not only provided 39,000 backpacks, but also have invested in partnerships that also provides free hair cuts, immunization to children pre-k through high school throughout Kern County. During the event, vendors come and talk about other services that are provided to families to help ensure the familty is utilizing programs to enrich their lives. We also provide fun activities for the children such as face painting, crafts, a play area, dancing and giveaways.
The only requirement to attend this event is being a child going into pre-k and high school being supervisied by an adult.
