Camp Kesem at The University of California, Santa Barbara is one of 134 chapters nationwide. Camp Kesem is a nationwide community that supports children through and beyond their parents' cancer. At UC Santa Barbara, we fundraise to provide one week of free summer camp experiences and year-round support to over 50 children in and around Santa Barbara County. We serve children ages 6-18 and are there for them throughout and after a parents' cancer battle because we understand the impact cancer has on the entire family. During camp, we provide a safe space for these kids to relax and take a break from their worries. We've had parents express to us how Camp Kesem is just as much a part of their cancer treatment as the medical treatments. Our vision is that every child impacted by a parent’s cancer is never alone.
