Keystone Place provides temporary emergency shelter for the homeless population of the St. Joseph County area.  We assist with motel stays if client is unable to reside at our shelter for varies reasons.  We also assist with housing through our grant funded Rapid Rehousing program.  Staff assist in finding housing and deposit/rental payments for a certain period to help clients gain self-sufficiency by finding employment, increasing hours and wages, being approved for social security, etc.  Keystone also gives referrals to area agencies for their specific barriers that need addressed in becoming and staying in permanent housing. We continue to work with clients throughout the duration of our program to address barriers that are not easily rectified. We provide care packages as needed.  Keystone also has a heating and cooling station during harsh months of the year when 32 degrees or below or a heat advisory has been issued.
