Since 1948, Kiddie Kampus Cooperative Preschool has been providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for the children of Alameda and surrounding communities. As one of the oldest preschools in the Bay Area and the only cooperative preschool in Alameda, we offer a place where children and parents develop, share, thrive and grow together in a stimulating and creative environment.
Kiddie Kampus is a cooperative, play-based, non-profit preschool for children ages 2 years 9 months to 5 years old. Every day at Kiddie Kampus, our two caring and experienced teachers, supported by a team of parents, work together to create a nurturing, engaging environment that encourages a lifelong love of learning.
Kiddie Kampus embraces a play-based curriculum. Our philosophy and belief is that children learn best through play. Play takes the form of any self-satisfying activity through which the child gains control and comes to understand life. In play, children make decisions, solve problems, and deal with consequences. Play promotes learning of the whole child.
Our preschool is administered and maintained by the parents on a non-profit, non- sectarian basis. Parents assist the professional teachers in the classroom on a rotating basis and participate in the educational program of all the children. Each family shares in the business operation of the school, thus making it truly a cooperative venture. Teachers, parents, and children share the experience of learning together.
