Kids Cove Respite Home, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting foster families throughout the Lake of the Ozarks region.
Kids Cove provides a vital service by offering free respite care to foster families who are committed to providing loving homes for children in need. The state only provides one day of respite care per child per month, which often falls short of meeting the real needs of foster families. Many foster parents face significant challenges and burnout, leading to a troubling statistic: nearly half of foster families do not renew their licenses after the second year, primarily due to the stress and exhaustion of their caregiving roles.
Our mission is to address this issue directly by offering a week of respite care at no cost. During this time, children enjoy a safe, fun, and enriching environment while their foster parents receive the break they need to recharge. This support helps reduce burnout and allows families to continue providing the crucial care that children in the foster system require.
