Kitten Central is a growing non-profit organization located in Newcastle, CA. Staffed almost entirely by volunteers, we support local shelters and rescues and those as far away as Redding, Modesto, and Vallejo.
As a medical foster facility, we provide critical and specialized care of neonatal kittens 0 to 28 days old. As these kittens require 24/7 care, many shelters are forced to euthanize kittens not placed with a skilled foster by the end of the day. That’s where Kitten Central comes in. We rescue the rescues. Since our inception in 2009, Kitten Central has saved over 5,000 kittens from euthanasia.
Our foster parents are trained to provide round-the-clock care, feeding, and socialization while our veterinary trained medical and volunteer staff provides each baby with all the medical check-ups, treatments, and medications required to produce healthy, happy adoptable kittens. After the kittens are spayed or neutered and microchipped, they are returned to their rescue or shelter to find their forever homes.
