Since 2003, Hand Up for Women has delivered dignity, self-confidence and hope to women who might otherwise remain trapped in addicition, abuse, poverty, and despair. Some of the life changes we have witnessed include: ending dependency on public assistance and building a career; leaving unhelathy relationships and making wiser personal choices; achieving and maintaining sobriety from addiction; regaining custody of children and reconciling with family; and becoming homeowners who actively participate in church and community.
Our program:
- Requires a year-long commitment from each participant to attend life and job skill classes twice a week
- Pairs each woman with a mentor who privides guidance and encouragement every step of the way
- Offers a home-based atmosphere where each woman experiences (some for the first time) what it's like to have a home and people who love her and want her to succeed
- Teaches women to realize their full potential in every area of life. We help women build a more self-sufficient lifestyle and introduce them to the person that God created them to be!
