Temple Kol Tikvah (TKT), founded in 1994, is a growing reform synagogue of 270 families serving the West San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles. We are a diverse community serving all lifestyles by offering a variety of services and programs for exploring and expressing Jewish identity. We support diversity in culture, beliefs, gender identity, and traditions. Through social, social justice, educational, and religious activities, TKT members come together for community service, to take political action, to share values, and to experience the joy and vibrancy of community. Our congregational goal is simple -- to create a community whose core is based on the concept of simcha, joy. TKT provides educational, spiritual and community services for all ages, including a preschool for ages 18 months through 5 years, summer camp, religious school for children from ages 6 through 18, a variety of educational, community activities for adults and an engaging Renaissance program for seniors.

From the moment you walk through our doors, you will be treated like a welcomed member of the family. We are a modern progressive Reform Jewish community open to traditional, interfaith, same-sex families, as well as seniors and singles. We connect congregants to a community that cares for one another.

Our temple has several community engagement activities throughout the year. We are the only temple partner with other religious organizations/other faiths to collect food items with Valley Food Pantry to feed the hungry. We have specific multi-cultural services throughout the year when we honor and participate in diverse and interfaith services to reflect our greater community. Our inclusive community partners with JQ International, invites speakers from the organization to join our services and speak about the LGBTQ community. Our temple founded an LBGTQ organization, “JSQA” which is now in partnership with JQ International and we have several events each year in support of this community.

We have a thriving youth and teen group at our temple that participates in several educational, social action/ social justice programs as well as community events and social activities. We have a growing NFTY chapter and we have received community recognition for our B’nai Mitzvah Revolution programs

We have an active senior community with engaging programs throughout the year that support wellness, education and social experiences in our Renaissance group. We are  expanding our programming for social engagement, social action/ social justice and community engagement for our senior members and community seniors with the addition of our new Social Worker and Senior Programming Advocate.

Through loving hands and giving hearts, the Kol Tikvah community has made an impact in their supportive efforts for the West Valley Food Pantry, Operation Gratitude, Sisters on the Street, My Stuff Bags, and LA Family housing to name a few. They are committed to the values of Tikkun Olam, Repairing the World, and Tzedakah, Charitable Causes.
