La Causa, Inc. is one of the largest bilingual, multicultural agencies in Wisconsin, providing a broad range of family-centered programs and services. Founded in 1972, La Causa has grown from serving 17 children to thousands of children and families each year with a mission to provide children, youth and families with quality, comprehensive services to nurture healthy family life and enhance community stability. Core services focus on education, early literacy, child abuse prevention, and human services through five divisions:

Crisis Nursery & Respite Center (CNRC): Provides a safe haven for children ages birth to 12 as families face homelessness, domestic violence, medical needs or other emergencies. The CNRC is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year - at no cost to families.

Early Education & Care Center (EECC): Educates and nurtures children ages 4 weeks to 3 years old. Children receive bilingual instruction in a creative, positive learning environment. The EECC also offers before and after-school programs and summer programs for children up to age 12. The EECC has received a 5-Star rating from the WI Department of Children and Families YoungStar Program, and Accreditation from the National Accreditation Commission. In 2015, the Early Education & Care Center added the Early Head Start via a Partnership with Next Door.

La Causa Charter School: Provides bilingual education for children in grades K4 through 8th, with a focus on Careers in Technology (science, technology, engineering, arts and math). The school has achieved “Exceeds Expectations” ratings by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction since 2017.

Social Services Division Youth Services: Provides a variety of Wraparound and support services for youth experiencing mental or emotional health needs, Treatment Foster Care, as well as other programs.

Social Services Division Adult Services: Offers supportive, recovery and strength-based services to adults and families throughout Milwaukee County. Programs such as Recovery Support Coordination, Treatment Clinic, Ancillary Services, and targeted case management provide a wide array of support services to the community.

Administration and Support Services: Provides professional and administrative support in accounting, finance, fund development, human resources, information technologies and marketing to support all divisions and programs.
