Ladder Up is a Chicago-based non-profit organization that has had an enormous and very tangible impact in underserved Chicago-area communities since 1994. Ladder Up provides low-income individuals and families with free financial services and financial literacy programming that helps them: 

·         Achieve financial literacy.

●        Obtain financial aid to make college dreams a reality.

●        Secure tax refunds and credits.

●        Resolve tax issues and controversies.  

 Since 1994, Ladder Up has served over 755,000 families in poverty or at risk of falling into poverty; we have delivered $1.42 billion in tax refunds and secured an estimated $350 million in financial awards for over 25,000 students.

The majority of our clients are households of color, with one or more dependents, residing in communities where trustworthy financial services are scarce. With the support of Ladder Up’s Financial Capability and College Success Programs, our clients acquire the financial benefits, knowledge, and skills that open the door to greater financial independence and stability, delivering a significant positive impact to clients, their families, and the communities in which they live.
