Lafayette Park Preschool is a co-operative preschool serving children aged 2-5 years in the City of Saint Louis. Our goal when founded in 1977 was and still is to provide preschoolers their start in quality education and begin the life long journey of loving school! LPP’s close-knit community strives to provide a play-based education reflecting the values of our families and of the city we love. Children of all backgrounds grow and learn together, strengthening our community bonds. The parents of our children serve in our classroom as volunteer teacher assistants enabling them to participate in their child's first steps of education. While our classroom is in the basement of a church, we are not a religious school but rather a community outreach program.
The Director, Amanda, serves as the head teacher and is with children every day as they grow from class to class. LPP is the only area school that serves children starting at age 2 and is unique in it's structure of one teacher that stays with the children as they grow. Preschool has one additional paid assistant in the MWF classes. Through the years we see families grow and teach their multiple children. Our organization promotes life lasting friendships in our neighborhood families strengthening the bonds of our St. Louis community.
