The Lake Highlands Area Early Childhood PTA (LHAECPTA) has been serving the Lake Highlands area since 1959 and is one of its oldest organizations. We are a community-wide, non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of children, equipping parents of preschoolers (ages birth – 5 years) with valuable parenting tools and enriching the community. We offer friendships that last a lifetime by joining together for a common cause: to raise happy, healthy, and loved children.

We are different from the traditional PTA as we are not affiliated with a school. However, we are part of the RISD Council of PTAs and have lasting connections to the schools that feed into Lake Highlands High School. The LHAECPTA was created using Texas State PTA policies and guidelines. As such, we are an official chapter of the Texas PTA.

We are 100% volunteer-driven and depend on the support of community businesses to help us keep membership dues low and enable access for all families.

The funds we raise throughout the year not only help with the production of our member events, but also enable us to give back to the community. We host a community service events. We strive to incorporate the children in these types of service events to instill empathy and inclusion at an early age. Examples of our community service events include coat and mitten drives, school supply donations, donate dry and canned goods to Feed Lake Highlands and donate books to preschool programs so every child has access to reading material. We also help support the preschool programs at schools that have limited on-campus PTA involvement or funds.

In addition to service we also provide Children’s Activities throught the year to build community in Lake Highlands including: Halloween Carnival, All PTA Playdate, Holiday Party, Easter Egg Hunt, Daddy & Me Dance, Mommy & Me Dance, Adult Activities Kick-Off Party, Working Moms Lunches, Book Club Sessions, Game Nights, Mom's Night out and Dad's Night Out.

Also, provide guest speakers at our General Meetings to equip and prepare parents for those difficult moments in raising small children. Update our Website, Logo, and Monthly Newsletters to include more information and creative graphics. Add a snack budget to our playdates and adult interest groups.

Thank you for your time and consideration!
