Las Vegas Youth Bowlers Tour is a Non-Profit Corporation dedicated to building the hearts and minds of youth bowlers in the Southern Nevada, Las Vegas area. It is our goal to bring them additional local opportunities to experience events that help build their youth bowling abilities. We want to help prepare the youth and their responsible adults for what to expect at any level of bowling event, local or national. We offer free coaching at the youth events along with gaining experience on tournament conditions. We also make it a fun enviroment through live streaming their stepladders. Some youth even get to participate in announcing the stepladder.
Youths will be awarded college scholarships for many forms of participation. So far, in our inagural 2021/2022 season, over $20,000 has been awarded to area youth. Their scholarships are managed by the national USBC organization under the SMART college scholarship programs. LVYBT makes deposits into their accounts.
In addition to college scholalrships, we have organized a stipend fund to help LVYBT youth participate in the National USBC youth tournaments and to represent the Southern NV/Vegas area. This fund helps offset the high cost of attending nationals. It is severely more expensive for West Coast youth to attend due to national events being held mostly in the eastern part of the US. It is our goal to help expand youth national opportunities through bowling where it hasn't been before. This year we have qualified 20 area youth to go to Nationals which is up from just a handful the year before. This will be a wonderful opportunity for youths that might normally get to travel to events and different areas of the US.
