The Moody Nolan Legacy House Project is the first of its kind—a house designed and delivered to a family in need, completely mortgage free. The house embodies modern design in a small footprint, designed to reduce energy consumption and provide secure housing for a family at risk of homelessness.

In Napier Sudekum, a local Nashville community, Legacy House stands in contrast as an investment in the long-term vitality of the community. The three-bedroom, two-bath house sits on a lot in partnership with The Housing Fund and is sized to meet the needs of a small family, while remaining affordable to maintain long-term. Located on a tight site, the 750 square foot home is organized to maximize space and energy efficiency, with materials selected for maximum life cycle use. The double-height ceiling and glass façade in the main living area contribute to the feeling of openness and transparency.

Planned as an annual gift, Legacy House Columbus was the first home of 12 that Moody Nolan will design and oversee in each of the communities in which it operates. This endeavor seeks to provide underserved neighborhoods with affordable and architecturally modern homes, modeling a new approach to affordable housing. The Nashville Legacy House will be the next location built in 2022.
