Level Up is a nonprofit organization of which provides necessary resources to Baltimore youth population. We provide these young individuals with mentorship. We place positive young black role models in front of them so that way they may see The making of success and have someone to lean on, learn from, and rely on. Living in Baltimore city is incredibly difficult; many of the youth individuals here in Baltimore city go through poverty, familial hardship, educational difficulties and of course social difficulties resulting from the violence problem here. These problems represent influences that contribute to young individuals being labeled as at risk or delinquent. For this reason, Level Up tries his hardest to provide any and all resources and opportunities necessary for these kids to grow and succeed. Level Up‘s mentorship has three main pillars, recreation, education, and life skills. The money provided by this grant will help us advance our objectives as it pertains to these three main pillars and it will give us the ability to contribute further to the lives of young individual is here in Baltimore city as well as the communities they live in.
This organization seeks to help youth dispel the societal limitations and expectations that stem from the idea that being young and black inherently means your prone to violence and criminal behavior. To achieve this goal, we will provide youth in Baltimore with the emotional, educational, and motivational support needed to Level Up. This program will identify problems, determine solutions, and pull together resources for both the mentee base and surrounding low-income, underserved communities. Level Up’s mission is to help, and it will accomplish that mission by uplifting and upgrading young black males and the communities they live in.
