The mission of the Lighthouse is to encourage and empower blind and significantly visually impaired children, youth, adults, and seniors to achieve their highest level of independence through competitive employment, specialized training and client services at no charge. As the number one employer of the visually impaired/blind in Tarrant County, we ensure that employees are trained to safely and precisely operate optical equipment, band saws, foam cutters, strappers, sonic welders and industrialized staplers in the manufacturing of eyeglasses, shipping containers, boxes, military supplies, paper goods, and drug testing kits. The revenue generated from product sales pays the wages and the full benefits of our blind labor force and helps underwire our Client Services program. For over 86 years, the Lighthouse has embraced and engaged the blind community in a way that truly infuses their life with daily purpose and hope for a brighter future!
