Long Beach Community Action Partnership (LBCAP) was founded in 1979 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community benefit organization. LBCAP is one of the 1,000 community action agencies in the United States, established under the Federal Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 to fight America's War on Poverty.

LBCAP provides a wide variety of vital services to uplift and aid our community to alleviate the burden of severe hardship for children and families currently living in a low-income household who have experienced educational, social, or economic barriers to self-sustainability. Our programs include youth leadership, development through the arts, utility and water bill payments, home energy efficiency installations, free tax preparation, public access media channels and a community media center.
