Long Island Lending a Helping Hand (LILAHH) is a food pantry and community center located in Rocky Point, NY. Our volunteer-led community center in Rocky Point provides food, other necessities, programs and services to anyone in need.
Our mission is to empower and encourage local residents and build a better life for all. The goal is to lend a helping hand to our neighbors by guiding and supporting them as they work to overcome challenges or make ends meet. Our volunteer-led community center in Rocky Point provides food, other necessities, programs and services to anyone in need.
Established as a 503c1 in 2020, we have grown quickly. In 2022 we served over 800 local families, which represented a 147% increase over the number of families served in 2021. We served over 400 families in first quarter this year. These families served represent over 1500 individuals, of which 49% were children age 0-17. Our clients come to us from 37 different Suffolk, Co, NY zip codes.
